Immediate Past Chair, HOSA Alumni

David joined HOSA-Future Health Professionals as a sophomore in high school in 2009, serving as Oklahoma HOSA State President and then as National President for 2012-2013. As an alumni member, he has continued to be involved in advancing HOSA’s mission through leadership, conference delivery, and advocacy. David has represented HOSA to educational, professional, and government groups for over a decade. He also served as conference staff over ten years for both the International Leadership Conference and Washington Leadership Academy, affording him a deep knowledge of HOSA’s programs. He was appointed to the task force that furthered the organization’s brand development and in 2017 developed its current mission statement. He is a recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Service Award and in 2016 was elected to the HOSA Hall of Fame. As a physician, David understands the challenges facing the health industry and the imperative of a skilled, professional, and compassionate workforce. As an alumnus, he knows HOSA – Future Health Professionals is the key to recruiting, retaining, and developing the next generation of health leaders. David is currently an ASOPRS Fellow in Oculofacial Plastic Surgery at the University of California San Francisco. A graduate of both New York University and the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, he is proud to maintain membership with the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
