2023 HOSA, Inc. Board Officer Elected

The annual election for HOSA, Inc. Board members is held during the HOSA, Inc. Corporate Meeting at the International Leadership Conference and are elected by the official representative of each chartered associations—domestic and international.  Board member terms vary by category from 2-3 years.  The HOSA, Inc. officers (Chair, Chair-Elect and Secretary) are elected by the board members at the annual meeting on the first Saturday in February.  The Board may be called to a special in-person or virtual meeting upon the decision of the Chairman of the Board.  When the Board is not in session, the Executive Committee is authorized to conduct periodic meetings at the direction of the Chair and act on behalf of the HOSA, Inc. Board of Directors.

The newly elected Chair of the HOSA, Inc. Board of Directors is Marcus Henderson, MSN, RN, HOSA Alum, Former HOSA State Officer, and HOSA, Inc. Board Member, Health Industry Representative,  elected as 2023 HOSA, Inc. Board Chairman. Marcus is a Ph.D. student at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, a SAMHSA/American Nurses Association Minority Fellow, and the PENN HOSA Officer Coordinator.  Marcus served this past year as Chair-Elect and

Christina Patrin, M.Ed. was elected Secretary. Ms. Patrin is the Wisconsin HOSA State Advisor and Health Science Education Consultant Representative. She has been State Advisor since 2018, while her service to HOSA extends back to 2001 when she was a secondary health science educator and certified athletic trainer.
Jim Scott, Ohio State Advisor, is a member of the Executive Committee as the Immediate Past Chair.  He has served HOSA since 2017 as the Ohio State Advisor.  Seeking the Chairmanship is a three-year commitment—Chair-Elect, then Chair, followed by Immediate Past Chair.
