Generosity: “No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave.” ~ Calvin Coolidge, American President

Add value (and fun) to your HOSA chapter:

Whether your chapter is seventy or seven members strong, community service projects can be daunting to get off the ground. Temptation to "go big or go home" can lead to stopping a valuable project before you even begin. Remember that even small, seemingly insignificant acts of service and kindness create momentum in your program. Working selflessly and serving as a team will bring your chapter together with shared experiences and challenges, and the simple act of going into your community and connecting with the people you one day hope to serve as a medical professional will provide motivation and passion to do more. So start somewhere. Help at the local elementary's after-school program. Play bingo with residents at a nearby retirement home. Sort cans and stock shelves at the food pantry. Don't be afraid to start small. Serving small is better than not serving, and chances are, your community service project will not stay small for long.

If you're hungry for ideas, the University of Nebraska in Lancaster prepared a list of 366 community service ideas that's sure to spark the fire for your own project.
