Jake Kelley - President

“If we don’t change, we don’t grow. If we don’t grow, we aren’t really living.” -Gail Sheehy

Fueled by a constant passion for seeing others succeed, Jake is honored to continue serving HOSA-Future Health Professionals as President. A junior at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, Jake is studying Microbiology on a pre-medicine track with a minor in Public Health. He plans to become a cardiothoracic surgeon and hopes to continue supporting HOSA on the professional side. Jake is passionate about advancing access to healthcare in rural communities and hopes to use the skills he has learned in HOSA to provide heart-health education to communities in need. He is a Tennessee native and loves to live up to his state’s nickname of being a volunteer. In his free time, Jake can be found volunteering at his local hospital, at a local tourism company, or with the American Red Cross. He is also a tireless advocate for Career and Technical Education and understands the importance of such a curriculum in schools across the country. He wants to ensure every HOSA member is exposed to opportunities allowing them to learn, lead, serve, and innovate. Besides HOSA, Jake loves reading, lifeguarding, cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers, and being outside. Jake looks forward to the year ahead and can’t wait to help members Unlock their Potential.
