“Don’t wait to do something” – Sam Bennet’s ‘Pops’

Through her 6 years as a HOSA member, Chetana has experienced a major shift in her life trajectory. HOSA was Chetana’s most profound introduction to healthcare in all respects. Through the educationally encouraging environment that HOSA facilitated, Chetana enjoyed exploring medicine through the lens that HOSA provided her and looked forward to combining education, service, and leadership with healthcare in any capacity she could. Today, Chetana is a sophomore pursuing her neuroscience and biology degrees with minors in honors transdisciplinary studies, pre-health, and research studies at Nova Southeastern University as a dual Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine candidate. One of Chetana’s strongest interests include women’s health, as she demonstrates by providing feminine hygiene products to women’s shelters, and advances menstrual health through education and awareness. Chetana also has a strong passion for clinical research and enjoys participating in oncology research and studies neurodegenerative diseases and hopes to continue pursuing research throughout her educational and professional careers. Chetana enjoys creative writing, playing her ukulele, seeing her two goats (Jill and Chicko), and jet skiing in South Florida with her friends. When not with her HOSA family, Chetana may be found thrifting, enjoying a night time drive listening to 21 Savage, or getting yet another boba. Chetana considers herself to be incredibly lucky to have the generous support and encouragement from her mentors, advisors, fellow HOSA members, and her Florida HOSA team to help facilitate her growth as a student, a leader, and friend. Chetana is incredibly optimistic about the future of healthcare and the possibilities that HOSA not only inspires, but is determined to produce. On the International Executive Council this year, she is excited to do her part in facilitating the future of healthcare and the world through innovative ideas, collaborative effort, and welcoming positive change.
