Interagency Health Leaders Roundtable

The Joint Medical Chair (JMC) and Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense/Health Affairs (OASD/HA) hosted the 7th Interagency Health Leaders Roundtable on November 15 -16, 2016, at the National Defense University (NDU), Fort McNair, Washington D.C., with three HOSA alumni members and two national officers in attendance. October 2016:  HOSA-Future Health Professionals and the National Alliance on Mental Illness are pleased to announce a partnership which will focus on engaging youth around mental illness. The partnership was selected by delegates, representing more than 9,300 members, who voted at the 2016 International Leadership Conference in Nashville, TN, on June 23, 2016 to select NAMI as their newest service project.

ACTE’s CTE Month® 2017 Video Public Service Announcement (PSA) Contest is open! This contest offers CTE students the chance to create videos that inform viewers of the value of career and technical education while simultaneously showcasing the great work students are doing in their own schools. This year’s video will make use of the CTE Month 2017 tagline, “Celebrate Today, Own Tomorrow!

Surgeon General Announces Turn the Tide Rx Campaign

HOSA-Future Health Professionals was honored to have Surgeon General Vivak Murthy with us at HOSA's 2016 International Leadership Conference and we are pleased to join his Turn the Tide Rx movement against the opioid epidemic.  Every day, more than 75 people in our country die from a prescription drug or heroin overdose. In 2013, nearly 249 million prescriptions were written for opioids – enough for every adult in America to have a bottle of pills.

2016 HOSA Hall of Fame Inductees

HOSA-Future Health Professionals  is pleased to unveil its new Hall of Fame. The HOSA Hall of Fame was created to honor and recognize individuals, companies, associations and government agencies who have rendered outstanding service to HOSA, health and biomedical science education and the health industry.  Members were inducted into the Hall of Fame during HOSA's 40th Anniversary Celebration at the 2016 International Leadership Conference Opening Session on June 22 at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN. 

2016 HOSA Washington Leadership Academy

HOSA invites all State Officers and Local Chapter Leaders to join us in Washington, D.C. for the 10th Annual Washington Leadership Academy (WLA). WLA features dynamic workshops and interactive activities to teach HOSA leaders to be better advocates of HOSA’s mission and vision.  This action-packed experience is the highest level of leadership development for HOSA-Future Health Professionals.  Learn more at hosa.org/WLA.
