HOSA-Future Health Professionals is pleased to announce the 2017 Public Health Leadership Scholar participants.  The week-long seminar is hosted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) with support from the Office of the U.S. Surgeon General (OSG) and the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps (USPHS).

Because there were such excellent applicants, we do hope those that applied and whose names are not listed above will make plans to apply again in 2018.

The Public Health Leadership Scholars program is designed to afford HOSA members the opportunity to enhance their knowledge, refine professional capabilities and increase their awareness of the infrastructure, operations, and responsibilities of the Office for Preparedness and Response in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

HOSA participants will shadow Medical Reserve Corps and ASPR staff and take on a project that directly furthers the mission and priorities of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).  This week is a unique opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the HHS, OSG, and the USPHS in a short period of time.

HOSA-Future Health Professionals will look forward to reviewing their capstone project!

Special thanks to Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary Edward Gabriel, CAPT Robert Tosatto, LT Katie Hager, LCDR Christina Kirby and the entire Office for Preparedness and Response, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for their professionalism and untiring support of HOSA-Future Health Professionals!
