Virginia HOSA attends AMSUS Conference

The Association of Military Surgeons of the United States invited Virginia HOSA members to participate in their annual conference on November 30, 2016 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Washington, DC.

AMSUS was established in 1891 and incorporated by an Act of Congress in 1903. The Constituent Services of the Association include the Medical Departments of the Department of Defense, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Homeland Security. It is the “Society of Federal Health Professionals,” and as such contributes to the improvement of all phases of the federal health services.

Virginia HOSA members had the opportunity to visit The Exhibits Program which reflected special emphasis on pharmaceuticals, diagnostic, laboratory, Wound & Burn Care, therapeutic devices and services, along with general medical supplies and equipment.  In addition, the HOSA members participated in a training program, Rx for Change Tobacco Cessation, and each received certification.

Thank you to the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States for this wonderful experience for HOSA members!
