Texas HOSA Attends AMSUS Conference

The Association of Military Surgeons of the United States invited Texas HOSA members to participate in their annual conference on December 1, 2015 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center 200 E. Market Street San Antonio, Texas 78205. One hundred and seventy-five Texas HOSA students were able to attend.

AMSUS was established in 1891 and incorporated by an Act of Congress in 1903. The Constituent Services of the Association include the Medical Departments of the Department of Defense, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Homeland Security. It is the “Society of Federal Health Professionals,” and as such contributes to the improvement of all phases of the federal health services.

Texas HOSA members had the opportunity to attend the educational track of their interest which included: Clinical Health, Global Health, Operations/Logistics, Psychological Health and Hands on Wound Care.

They also had the opportunity to visit The Exhibits Program which reflected special emphasis on pharmaceuticals, diagnostic, laboratory, Wound & Burn Care, therapeutic devices and services, along with general medical supplies and equipment.

Thank you to the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States for this wonderful experience for HOSA members!
